SXSW Day 1 - Look ahead at Day 2.

Texas LEGO Art by TexLUgInteresting hour of scouting the first day of SXSW (I work overnights so I'll be missing part of today much like I decided to most of Friday). Showed up to a false alarm that cleared the Austin Convention Center. Thankfully it was just a false alarm and it became business as usual again.
What did come of it was lining up quite a few appointments that will result in things that will probably be to side of the main course of things to be featured on The Game Reviews. We'll see how things all shake out.
Looking ahead for today, I'm very much looking forward to starting the day (well in my case ending it) talking with people from two companies in the downloadable/browser game space I hold in high regard. First being Jon David, VP of Social Products at PopCap Games. PopCap has the distinction of being one of those casual game developers that gets props simply for being a good developer, no qualifier needed. David's participating in Sunday's "Social Gaming: Lessons from the Pioneers" panels and should have some interest insights on where that new space may be going.
Also, I'm expecting to meet up again with Twisted Pixel CEO Michael Wilford about what's going with Twisted Pixel, including some new apparel and other Maw and Splosion Man goodies they are now selling. As an admitted fan, it's pretty cool seeing some of the things they've put together and I'll try and grab some snapshots with some of them to post here. More interestingly, a little bird tells me another surprise might be in store.
When stuff pops up from TGR, or elsewhere from things, I'll let link it here. Also, I'm doing to throw some Daily Texan love back to one Allistar Pinsof of my college newspaper and the Bitmob community some love for some of the coverage he's doing. He's getting to see most of the panels at SXSW and I want people to know what's going on from his eyes.
