Peep This: Tokyo Game Show: Part 1 (Various Sources)

Oh, to be in Tokyo. Well if nothing else, it's given me quite a bit to jump around website to website checking up on what's going on. There will be a Sound Byte later focused on my love fest with Square Enix this show (and what game brought that to a screeching halt) but in the meantime, check out what's catching my eye across the games press:

- Eurogamer's Elle Gibson reports there's a chance Gears of War 3 could release on next-generation console and not the 360. Epics Game president Mike Capps explained after a Q&A that it will likey come down to how soon the release was and if whether the game is based on Unreal Engine 3 (360 release) or Unreal Engine 4 (future console release).

- IGN's Erik Brudwig gives his impressions on Natal after trying it out with Space Invaders Extreme, Beautiful Katamari, and Ricochet. There's also video of Brudwig and all love to the man, it's ridiculously funny.

- It's not just the press offering up impressions. Brudwig also reports on the Mircosoft Creator Panel featuring Hideo Kojima of Konami, Keiji Inafune of Capcom and Toshihiro Nagoshi of SEGA. The panel offered their ideas of what can be done with the technology and what it may change the gaming experience.

- Kotaku's Owen Good also has a developer impression piece on Natal including video featuring Inafune, Nagoshi, Keisuke Kikuchi of Tecmo, Kenichiro Imaizumi of Kojima Productions, Yozo Sakagami of Namco, Masanori Takeuchi of FromSoftware, Naoki Maeda of Konami.

- From the Gamasutra front, Simon Carless writes a post-recession gaming business panel in where executives from Sony, Capcom, Square Enix, Konami and Namco. Particular of interest and in focus are the perspectives from these execs on reaching the Western audience.

- Carless also reports on the TGS Keynote from Sony Computer Entertainment CEO and president Kaz Hirai.

- Oh yeah, if you've been under a rock and hadn't learned about it yet, IGN has a download available for the TGS demo of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It's in Japanese, but there's a link to the forums to help with that.
