The Underscore aims to serve as an unique perspective on the world of videogames and videogame culture. There will be news covered, but by the nature of the blog, up the moment news is better serviced at the IGNs and 1UPs on the internet. Following the Randy Galloway mantra of "Fair and Biased Sportstalk," the idea is to present what's going on with a reasonable perspective that doesn't always follow the pretense of complete objectivity (a great ideal which has never truly existed in journalism in the first place.)

The Underscore was created in 2009 as a project of freelance journalist Gerren LaQuint Fisher. The former University of Texas student has covered video games for The Daily Texans, DaddyGotGame.com, CRUNK Magazine and most recently has been a contributor to TheGameReviews.com.

He's also worked on the Texas Student Television program Video Game Hour Live and as well as Associate Producer for the GameBot HD project for Phame Factory which led to the idea of the Underscore podcast series to debut in June of 2009.
